The Charleston Battery continued their preseason run of form Thursday, this time holding on for a 2-1 win on the home turf of the second-tier Carolina Railhawks.

According to the club’s Twitter feed, the Battery scored both its goals in the first half.  Quinton Griffith put up the first in the 18th minute, with Michael Azira adding the decisive goal in the 33rd.

The Railhawks pulled one back in the 70th, and the Battery held on for the last 20 to get the win.

Today’s match was originally scheduled for Friday. It also served as the debut of the Battery’s new Nike away kit, as seen here in this photo Tweeted by the club.
