James Island Charter High School’s Yasir Al-Kameshki, and William Le connected with two – yes – two bicycle kicks to score in the school’s win in the Class AAAA playoffs. It’s getting national attention – including from ESPN and MLS – for all the right reasons. Here’s the story from the Post and Courier’s Jeff Hartsell.
Cool takeaway: In addition to Al-Kameshki, who is from Oman, and Le, whose family is from Vietnam, the team includes players with families from Mexico, Uruguay and Venezuela, along with an exchange student from Spain. Soccer has a way of breaking down international barriers. Until the World Cup, of course.
